Who provides the service

Mustafa Ahmed Interpreting Services is a sole trader practice based in Birmingham. Mustafa Ahmed is an NRPSI Full Registered Arabic–English legal interpreter (No. 17911) and is bound by the NRPSI Code of Professional Conduct.

Scope of services

Remote and in-person Arabic–English legal interpreting, written linguistic consultancy, and interview record and transcript review. Interpreting is impartial and complete: I interpret what is said, I do not give legal advice, and I do not offer any view on a witness's credibility. Written translation is provided as translation only — not certified or sworn; clients arrange any certification separately.

Rates and minimum bookings

Remote interpreting is charged at £65 per hour with a one-hour minimum. In-person interpreting is charged at £85 per hour with a three-hour minimum. Rates are the same for every dialect. Legal aid instructions are charged at the prescribed rate. Consultancy fees are set out on the Consultancy page and are confirmed in writing before work begins.

Cancellation

Cancellation requires 48 hours' notice. Bookings cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged.

Payment

Invoices are payable within 30 days of the invoice date unless agreed otherwise in writing. Instructions from clients outside the United Kingdom are payable in advance or under an agreed retainer. Invoices are issued in pounds sterling unless another currency is agreed in writing.

Confidentiality and conflicts

All assignment content is confidential, as set out in the privacy notice. I do not interpret in any matter in which I have provided consultancy to a party.

Insurance

£1m professional indemnity insurance is held with Markel UK.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
