Remote interpreting for instructing solicitors
One named interpreter on your matter, joining by whichever platform the tribunal or your firm uses — without a travel line on the invoice.
Why I work remotely
Remote interpreting removes travel costs and the most common booking risks. There is no travel fee, no train delay, and no interpreter arriving at the wrong building. For conferences, asylum interviews, case management hearings and most tribunal work, it is simply the better mode.
I work daily on Microsoft Teams, Zoom, HMCTS Cloud Video Platform (CVP), Prison Video Link and ordinary telephone. Where your firm uses a secure client portal, I will work within it.
What you get as standard
- One named, accountable interpreter for the duration of your matter, so the client is not facing a different voice at each hearing.
- Papers read in advance. Send the bundle, the indictment or the statement and I will build dialect-specific vocabulary before the link opens.
- Itemised invoices and attendance notes provided as standard, to support legal aid claims.
- A same working-day response to booking requests, usually by email or telephone.
Booking
£50 per hour, one-hour minimum, all dialects excluding North African (Algerian, Libyan, Moroccan and Tunisian) and all settings. In-person attendance is not offered; where it is essential, I will refer you to an NRPSI-registered colleague. Firms with regular instructions can agree £45 per hour for blocks of 10 hours or more. Legally aided matters are charged at the LAA-prescribed rate. Cancellation requires 48 hours' notice.
A free 30-minute pre-instruction consultation is available to confirm the client's dialect and plan logistics before you instruct.
Instructing me for this work

Some matters need more than an interpreter at the hearing. Two written services sit alongside interpreting, both scoped and estimated in writing before work begins.
Arabic Interview Record Review
A line-by-line comparison of the English interview record or transcript against the Arabic recording, with a written note on every rendering that alters meaning. £100 per hour of time spent, written estimate agreed first.
Legal Language Assessment
Dialect and origin analysis (Yemeni and Kuwaiti) where a client’s claimed region or nationality is disputed. A structured written report for the instructing solicitor’s consideration. From £750.
Independent linguistic analysis for the solicitor’s consideration — not a forensic determination, and not prepared as expert evidence. I do not interpret in any matter in which I have provided consultancy to a party.
